Sunday's Bulletin Message 9/20/2026
We started our Sunday Services with our Sunday School Classes for all our age groups. In the Worship Service we sang some congregational hymns & our Adult Choir sang followed by some special singers who sang praises to the Lord. Afterwards, Pastor Bill Rains preached a message entitled: "When The Cats Away" from Nehemiah 13:1-14 from his "The Need For Nehemiahs" sermon series #16. WHEN I WAS GROWING UP I ALWAYS HEARD THIS SAYING-
"Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me". I knew that was a lie the first time I heard it, because I'd already hurt with sticks and stones and healed, howbeit sometimes with scars and results that remain. But the worst hurts I've ever experienced have resulted from "words" spoken to me or to others about me. Hurtful words often cause irreparable wounds. I bare such inflicted wounds by others from years past that seem to never completely heal and often fester and bring pain. The Apostle James reminded us of the permanent power of the tongue. Let us use it to help heal and never sling that sword to slay! I don't want to stand before God and give account for destroying, or damaging the feelings and spirituality of another or hurting in anyway the reputation of any innocent person! So, unless I know by irrefutable evidence, I will not consider anyone guilty before proven innocent. My disagreements with them are of little importance. I also grew up hearing this statement "if you say something good about someone, say nothing at all".
SPEAKING FROM 50 YEARS OBSERVATIONAL EXPERIENCE-
a "casual, no big deal" attitude in worship services only increases carnality in Christian lives and decreases the spirituality of churches.
WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT TO PEOPLE, either privately or publicly? Here's the biblical admonition:-
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.(I Thessalonians 5:11) To comfort and edify means to build one another up in the faith. We must understand and life up in attitudes and actions that show everyone that the Church is not about us, not about talking to others about out likes, dislikes, our views, our opinions, feelings, goals, people's failures or even sins. It's about glorifying God, (Ephesians 3:21), living for Christ and serving in unity, (John 17:21-23), and bringing souls to salvation, (Proverbs 11:30), (Daniel 12:3). Our CONVERSATION (as the real bible, the KJV clearly says, not citzenship, is in heaven not on carnal things, (Philippians 3:20, Colossians 3:2). Death and life are in the power of the tongue: (Proverbs 18:21) How are we swinging the sword of our tongue?
LIVING OUT AND PROPERLY ANNOUNCING WHAT I AM FOR AND WHY will have much greater consequences in people's lives

WHY AS GOD'S SERVANTS MUST ANNOUNCE GOD'S WORD CONCERNING ANY MATTER IN SOCIETY, Matthew (5:13-16)
SOCIALIST/DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP-
is so dangerous because, while they want socialistic policies to govern everyone else, they secretly live by captialism for themselves! (in other words they enrich themselves while driving the populace into poverty).
YOUR ATTITUDE AND THINGS YOU TALK ABOUT WITH PEOPLE-
can edify (build another up in the faith) or uproot them from Christianity so badly that they'll quit church altogether. Some people get more people out of church than they ever get in. All the while act like they're the "goody two shoes".
IT'S BEEN SAID-
"Our Churches must change or they're gonna die!" I whole heartily agree with that. Here are some changes I propose:
1. Let's change in the sense of becoming more biblical than we've been.
2. Let's change in the sense of getting rid of every version of the Bible but that KJV.
3. Let's change in our prayer life. Let's pray daily for souls to be saved, for people to love Jesus and want to live for him, for God's will to be done in our lives, not our own.
4. Let's change in our lives from wasting time to "redeeming the time for the days are evil".
5. Let's stop being rude and unkind to people and start being Christ-Like in how we communicate and treat people.
6. Let's start going to church more often instead of less.
7. Let's stop disrespecting God's house with "any old thing will do in dress and service" and start being our best for the Lord Jesus Christ.
8. Let's change from being cold and indifferent to evangelistic and full of scripture.
9. Let's do more hymns instead of hem hawing and more specials that are special to Jesus.
