“Empowering Insight”
Sunday's Bulletin Message 3/29/2026

We started our Palm Sunday Services with our Adult Class Study of the book of Revelation. In the Worship Service we sang some congregational hymns & our Adult Choir sang & some special singers sang praises to the Lord. Afterwards, Senior Pastor Bill Rains returned to the pulpit to preach a message entitled: "Me And The Donkey" from Mark 11:1-10. PALM SUNDAY IS ALWAYS ONE
OF MY MOST ENJOYABLE
CHURCH SERVICES
I love the fact that we always have Palm Branches for everyone to help us commemorate our Lord's Triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The story of that wonderful event is filled with spiritual instruction for every one of us. For instance, in Matthew's account we learn of two disciples that when told by our Lord what to do, did exactly that! We learn that their task was to secure a couple donkeys for Christ's entrance into the city. It is said that the "the Lord hath need of them" and that the owner would allow them to be taken. These things were done in fulfillment of prophecy. The great crowd that spread branches and their jackets on his pathway and cried Hosanna certainly enhanced the excitement of that day.
In Mark's account, which we looked discovered some additional information that is very inspiring to me. I hope that it will be to you as well. My message is "Me and the donkey" from Mark 11:1-10. Here's what we learn from this story of the donkey...we learn about the CONDITION of all humanity. We learned about the CROSSROADS at which we all stand. We also experience the CHANGE that Christ makes in our lives. I hope you all will "lay down your Palm Branches" at the feet of Jesus and kneeling in your heart to allow him full entrance into your life.
CHANGE ISN'T-
...hearing the call to change, seeing the need to change and promising to change (this is usually just manipulation designed to delay or get away with never changing). Change is actually beginning now and continuing to change!
YOUR ATTITUDE AND ACTIONS,-
friendliness or jerkiness will either open the door for an effective Gospel witness or close it. It'll help you to be a "soul winner" or fix it to where you're a "soul loser". Don't be carnal, be Christlike!
I'M SO THANKFUL-
that when I stand before God, I will never have to give an account for hurting a Pastor or Church (the precious bride of Christ), or "ghosting" an individual that loved me and did everything they could for me.
WHAT ARE WE LEAVING BEHIND TO HELP THE CAUSE OF CHRIST?-
"..."But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:" (Matthew 6:20)
IT'S BEEN SAID-
"Our Churches must change or they're gonna die!" I whole heartily agree with that. Here are some changes I propose:
1. Let's change in the sense of becoming more biblical than we've been.
2. Let's change in the sense of getting rid of every version of the Bible but that KJV.
3. Let's change in our prayer life. Let's pray daily for souls to be saved, for people to love Jesus and want to live for him, for God's will to be done in our lives, not our own.
4. Let's change in our lives from wasting time to "redeeming the time for the days are evil".
5. Let's stop being rude and unkind to people and start being Christ-Like in how we communicate and treat people.
6. Let's start going to church more often instead of less.
7. Let's stop disrespecting God's house with "any old thing will do in dress and service" and start being our best for the Lord Jesus Christ.
8. Let's change from being cold and indifferent to evangelistic and full of scripture.
9. Let's do more hymns instead of hem hawing and more specials that are special to Jesus.
